How To Talk with Clients to Get More and [More] Projects

Before starting the article, I would like to inform you that recently I hired by a Mechanical seal Manufacturing Company in Mumbai and this article is based on the talk which I had with the manager there. Actually they want to hire me to redesign their Logo but after the meet things changed to various design project. But it took two hour me to explain everything as they told me to explain everything in short.

Now coming back to the article, what exactly happens there? What I told them that they hired me for various design projects? I will try to explain you in short, Don’t worry I will not bore you.

#1. When the manager asked me why they should redesign the logo for their company? I simply told him “Your Logo is one of the most crucial part of your branding, and taking it light is like throwing your child to the wrong path and later its hard to recover”

#2. Then I started explaining him why branding is so important in this fast and competitive world? I said, “Tell me which company comes in your mind when you think to order a Pizza?” He immediately said, “Pizza hut”, I said Which company comes in your mind when you think to sell your old mobile phone [Or any products] He said “Quikr”. I said exactly! This is what branding means and this will increase your business so fast.

#3. Now why should we explain? Because people trust on you, if you have good knowledge in your field, and they will trust you more when you have knowledge of relating things like I am a logo designer, and if I knew how to brand your business then you will start trusting me more than what I expect. The more I get trust from client, the more I get projects.

#4. Then he asked how we can build brand of our business? I started explaining things that works in branding from stationary design to customer support, The use of social media, the importance of color, the tagline, the logo, the website etc. Another catch I got from him to me. He said can you design a website for us? I said yes why not? Yeah another project finally. Till then I got logo and website design project from him. Now I had to explain him the use of stationary design and how it works. I started talking about catalogue design and why its so important. I said, Not every people have computer or laptop with him, right? So the best option is to provide your client a catalogue of your company so that they can get an overview of your products.

#5. Then he said, why color is important?Again I back to branding, I gave an example to him. Think if you are hungry and you know that you can get fresh food in cheap price from McDonald, so here the logo and colors plays an important role. Whenever we think about McDonald the first thing comes in our mind is YELLOW color and the text McDonald written in red. He said you have good knowledge of branding, will you work for us to brand our business, Another project from their side.

This is how we can talk with out client to get more and more projects, no matter for what project they hired you. Talk like you are expert in the field. The more you explain the better chances are to get more projects. Yes we talk lot more but I think this post is only for how to talk with Clients to get more and more projects. Remember
