Ifham khan December 2, 2012

I am always in search of something new about Logos, brands and the owner of the designs. I was very much excited to know about the Top logos and their designers, and then finally after lots of researching, I thought I should share it with you. Today I am here with Top 5 Logos and their Designers.

Interesting article: 3 Most Expensive Logos

#1. Facebook

The giant social network has a solid rock logo which is basically in blue color but we can consider it as white color too. No matter how it appears, but its really an amazing logo which has some powerful visualization. The Facebook logo was designed by Cuban Council, with the help of Joe Kral of Test Pilot Collective.

#2. Twitter

The micro blogging platform which now one of the most famous micro blogging site, yes I am talking about twitter. Twitter Logo was designed by Linda Gavin and the twitter bird was taken from istockphotos.com for $6 by a japan based designer Simon Oxley according to wired.com, check the istockphotos.com listing here. But the typography was designed by Linda have look at her portfolio here. Something in her own word

I made the Twitter logo

Twitter is the most successful project I’ve participated in. The founder and developer of Twittr Noah Glass asked Futurefarmers to redo the identity in August 2006. Amy Franceschini and I had three days to design the complete identity and website. We made a lot of quick designs, and it all came together after the blue bubbly logo was chosen. The website had a color scheme of blue, turquoise and white.

Twitter has made big improvements to the website over the years. But I made the logo, the cloud, and is partly responsible for the color scheme. When I read about the first tweet in space, I realized how lucky I am to have been a part of this. (I have no part in making the background for this tweet. It’s just to illustrate how cool Twitter is.)

#5. Apple Logo

The largest brand and the most famous logo among people, Apple logo was first designed by Ron Wayne. Then it was transformed to a rainbow color which was designed by Rob Janoff. and still used the logo, An apple which was bitten.

The fruit of his labor: a simple 2-D monochromatic apple, with a healthy bite taken from the right side. Jobs loved the conceit-only he suggested it be more colorful. Janoff’s boss disagreed, insisting the logo be made all black to save on printing costs. “But Jobs was  resolute, arguing that color was the key to humanizing the company,” says Janoff. “So I just put colors where I thought they should be, not even thinking about a prism.” What thanks did Janoff, now the owner of his own Chicago-based graphic design firm, get for all his hard work?
“Not even a holiday card.”
